How to Download TikTok Audio on Any Device

You can download TikTok audio as an MP3 in about half a minute, and you do not need an account, an app or any technical skill. What trips people up is not the converting. It is the small stuff around it: copying the right link, finding the file afterwards, or realising halfway through that the video was private. This guide covers the whole path, in order, with the things we wish someone had told us. This guide shows exactly how to download TikTok audio, step by step.

What you need

Two things only. A modern browser on your phone or computer, and the link of a public TikTok video. That is it. If you are not sure whether a video is public, a quick test helps: open the link in a private browser window. If it plays, it is public.

Hands holding a phone with a TikTok video and a download arrow

In the TikTok app, tap the Share arrow on the right of the video. Look for Copy link in the row of options. On iPhone it sits in the lower row, so swipe sideways if you cannot see it. Tap it, and the address is on your clipboard.

On a computer, open the video on tiktok.com and copy the full address from the browser bar.

One small trap here: copy the link with the button, not by selecting text by hand. Selecting by hand is how people end up with a link that is missing its last few characters.

Step 2: paste it into the converter

Open the TikTok to MP3 converter and tap the box at the top. Press and hold, then choose Paste. Recent versions of iOS and Android may ask permission to paste. Allow it, which is a privacy feature and not a problem with the site.

Press Convert to MP3. For a short clip this takes a few seconds. You should see a result card with the video's cover image, a title and the creator's name. If you see an error instead, jump to the section on problems below.

Step 3: download and find the file

Tap Download. What happens next depends on your device.

  • Android: Chrome saves the MP3 in Downloads and shows a small notice. Open the Files app to find it.
  • iPhone: Safari asks you to confirm. Tap Download, then tap the arrow near the address bar to open the file. It also lives in the Files app under Downloads.
  • Windows and Mac: The file goes to your Downloads folder, or your browser asks where to save it.

If the audio starts playing in a new tab instead of downloading, do not panic. Use the share icon in that player and choose Save to Files on iPhone, or press and hold the download button on Android.

Step 4: give it a sensible name

The file takes the title of the video, and TikTok titles are often a wall of hashtags. Rename it right now, while you remember what it is. Something like "artist - song" or "creator - topic" will save you a lot of squinting in six months.

What the file will sound like

You get the audio TikTok serves for that video. That is compressed, so it sounds like it does in the app: perfectly good on earbuds and a phone speaker, flatter than a studio recording on good headphones. Voices come through well. Dense music loses some sparkle. If you want a song at full quality, find the official release.

When it does not work

Nearly always the link is the culprit: the video is private or deleted, or the link was cut off. Our fixes for downloads that fail go through each cause in order.

A quick recap

Copy with the Share button, paste, convert, download, rename. If you would rather read this in Indonesian, the Indonesian guide covers the same ground.

Worries about the first try

People often worry that they did something wrong when nothing seems to happen after pasting. Give it a few seconds, since longer clips take slightly longer. If the button stays active and nothing appears, check that the link starts with https and contains no extra spaces. A missing letter at the end of a short link is the usual culprit, and copying it again from the share menu fixes it.

Doing it for several clips

If you have a list of clips to save, work through them one at a time and rename each file right away. Batches that are renamed later tend to end up as a pile of similar numbers that nobody can sort out. A short habit like adding the topic before the creator name makes the whole folder easy to scan.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install an app to download TikTok audio?

No. A browser is enough on both phone and computer.

Why is the MP3 not as clear as the song on Spotify?

TikTok compresses the audio it serves. The converter cannot add quality that is not in the source.

Where is my file after downloading?

Android: Downloads folder. iPhone: Files app, Downloads. Computer: your browser's Downloads folder.
