Everything on this site starts with a link. That little string of characters from TikTok's share menu is all the converter needs to find a video, take out its audio and hand you an MP3. This page explains how to get the right link, what the different kinds of links look like, and what to do when one will not work. This page explains how to download TikTok audio from link step by step.

Getting the link on your phone

In the TikTok app, open the video you want. Tap the Share arrow on the right side, then Copy link. TikTok puts the address on your clipboard. Switch to your browser, open this page, press and hold in the box at the top, tap Paste, and then Convert to MP3.

Copying a TikTok share link and pasting it into the converter box

If you are in a hurry, you can also share the video straight to your browser from the share sheet on some phones, though copying and pasting is more reliable.

Getting the link on a computer

Open the video on tiktok.com. Click the address bar, copy the full address with Ctrl+C or Cmd+C, and paste it into the converter. If the page shows a share button, you can use that as well and pick Copy link.

What a valid link looks like

TikTok links come in a few shapes, and all of these usually work:

  • A full address that contains /video/ followed by a long number, such as tiktok.com/@name/video/1234567890.
  • A short link beginning vm.tiktok.com or vt.tiktok.com, which is what the app often copies on a phone.
  • A link with extra tracking text after a question mark. You can leave it in; the tool ignores it.

Links that will not work include those to a private account, a deleted video, a live stream that has ended, or a profile page without a specific video. If the link points to a user's profile rather than a video, the converter has nothing to extract.

Why a link may fail

Most failures come down to the same few causes, and you can check each in a minute:

  1. The video is private or gone. Open the link in a private browser window. If you cannot watch it, the tool cannot fetch it.
  2. The link was cut off. Copy it again with the share button instead of selecting text by hand. Messaging apps sometimes shorten long links.
  3. A region restriction. Some videos are blocked in certain countries. A different network might change the result, though it often does not.
  4. TikTok changed something. Occasionally their pages change and every converter stumbles for a few hours. Wait a bit and try again.

Our troubleshooting guides go into each of these in more detail, with screenshots described step by step.

Using the share sheet on iPhone and Android

On iPhone, the share sheet shows a row of apps and a row of actions. The Copy Link action is in the second row, so swipe along if you cannot see it. On Android, tap Share and look for Copy link among the icons at the bottom. Different phone brands arrange these differently, but the wording is the same.

If your clipboard seems empty when you paste, it is usually because the phone asked permission and the prompt was dismissed. Try copying again and tap Allow paste when your phone asks. This is a privacy feature of recent iOS and Android versions, not a fault with the site.

Handling many links

Converting several videos? Do them one at a time. After each download, paste the next link and press convert again. There is no queue to manage, so keep the tab open and give each file a clear name as you go.

Short links, long links and what they hide

A short link such as vm.tiktok.com/abc123 is just a nickname. When the converter opens it, TikTok forwards it to the long address that holds the video number, so both end up at the same video. Short links are handy in chats, but they sometimes expire or break when an app trims them, which is why a long link is the safer choice when a short one fails.

Links from chats and other apps

A friend's message often wraps the link in extra words or a preview card. Press and hold the link itself and choose Copy link, instead of copying the whole message. Messaging apps occasionally add their own tracking text after a question mark. That is harmless here, because the tool ignores everything after the video number.

Links to avoid pasting

A few addresses look like video links but are not. A profile address ends with an at sign and a username and nothing more. A hashtag page or a sound page lists many videos and no single one. If you paste one of these, the tool has nothing to extract and will say so. Open a specific video from that page, then copy its own link.

Once you have the right link

Paste it on the TikTok to MP3 page and the rest takes a few seconds. If you get stuck on anything besides the link, the contact page is the quickest way to reach us.

Frequently asked questions

Which TikTok links does the converter accept?

Public video links: full tiktok.com addresses and short vm.tiktok.com or vt.tiktok.com links.

Why does it say my link is invalid?

The link may point to a profile, a hashtag or a deleted video, or it may have been cut off. Copy it again with the Share button.

Do I need to remove the text after the question mark?

No. The tool ignores it, so you can paste the link as it is.

Have your link ready?

Paste it into the box and let the converter do the rest.
