If you have ever wanted the song or sound from a TikTok without the video attached, a TikTok to MP3 converter does exactly that. You give it the link of a public video, it pulls out the audio track, and you get a normal MP3 file that plays in any music app, car stereo or editing program.

How to convert TikTok to MP3

Four taps or clicks, no account:

Phone showing a TikTok link being converted to an MP3 file
  1. In TikTok, press Share and then Copy link.
  2. Paste the link into the box at the top of this page.
  3. Press Convert to MP3 and wait a few seconds.
  4. Press Download. The file lands in your downloads folder.

On a computer, copy the address from the browser bar of the video page instead. On an iPhone the file usually appears in the Files app under Downloads.

What you actually get

An MP3 of what plays in the video. If the clip uses a song, you get the version TikTok plays, which is often a shortened edit. If it is an "original sound", you get the creator's own recording with whatever background noise was there. TikTok compresses its audio, so expect the sound of the app: good on earbuds and phone speakers, thinner than a studio release.

A few tips that make it smoother

Keep your browser up to date, because old versions sometimes mishandle downloads, especially older iPhones. If the Download button only plays the audio in a new tab, press and hold the player or use the share icon and choose Save to Files. Strict data savers and ad blockers can hide the result card, so pause them for this page if nothing appears.

How this compares with other options

You can also screen-record a video and strip the sound later, but that is slower, captures notification pings, and gives you worse quality. Some apps bundle downloading with extras you do not need, such as account sign-ins and permissions. A link-based converter in the browser is the lightest approach: no install, no sign-up, nothing left behind on your phone except the file you chose to keep.

What happens to your link

When you press the button, our server asks TikTok for the public page of that video, reads the address of the audio track inside it and hands that audio to your browser as an MP3. Nothing is edited, mixed or re-recorded on the way, which is why the conversion takes seconds and why the sound matches what you hear in the app.

Two details are worth knowing. First, we never see your TikTok account, because only the public page is requested. Second, if TikTok has changed that page and our reader cannot find the audio, you will see an error and nothing is stored. The checks for that situation are on the page about links.

Reading the result card

When the conversion works, a small card appears under the button with the video's cover image, its title and the creator's name. Take a second to confirm it is the video you meant, because a link copied from the wrong tab is the most common mistake we see. The Download button on the card saves the MP3, and the card stays there so you can paste another link right away without reloading the page.

File names and sizes

The MP3 takes the video's title as its file name, hashtags and all. A fifteen-second clip is usually well under a megabyte, and a three-minute video comes to a few megabytes, so even a long list of sounds takes little room. Rename each file as soon as it lands, with the song or the creator's name, because forty files called after long captions are hard to search later.

Where to go next

Not sure the sound is yours to reuse? Read the Terms of Use first. Want to know why the quality is what it is? The guide to TikTok audio quality explains it. Using Indonesian? The Indonesian page has the same tool.

When the result looks off

If the title on the card is blank or the cover picture is a grey square, the link usually points to a video that is still processing. Wait a minute and try again. A file that plays but sounds quiet is normally a quiet original, which you can raise later in any player that has a volume boost.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a conversion take?

A few seconds for a short clip. Longer videos take a little more time, and a slow connection adds to it.

Can I convert private TikTok videos?

No. Only videos that anyone can watch can be fetched. Private, deleted and region-locked videos will not work.

Why does the file name look strange?

It follows the video title, hashtags included. Rename the file after downloading.

Can I convert several links in a row?

Yes. Paste the next link as soon as the first download finishes. There is no queue or limit for ordinary use.

Ready to try it?

Paste a link above and your MP3 will be ready in a few seconds.
